This i due to Windows 8 limiting the connection for managing power on the device. So you can solve it by disabling power management on the device.
Win key>Control Panel>Network & Sharing Centre>
View your active connections>Connections>Choose ‘your’ wifi connection
Wifi Status window>Activity>Properties>
Networking>Configure
Power Management>
Untick []Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power
