Often when you install a program from source, configure and make complains about missing header files. Often a stackoverflow search points you to similiar questions about the package it belongs to. Or a apt-cache search may help. apt-cache is sometimes unhelpful because the name pf package may not correlate to the header file name. In such cases, use apt-file.
sudo apt install apt-file apt-file update
And use it like this:
apt-file search /usr/include/usb.h
