First install composer (Tested upto 5.1):
curl -sS https://getcomposer.org/installer | php
Or without curl:
php -r "readfile('https://getcomposer.org/installer');" | php
Now install Laravel’s dependencies:
sudo apt-get update apt-get install libapache2-mod-php5 php5-gd
Install Laravel itself:
composer global require "laravel/installer=~1.1"
Now create an application using laravel:
$ laravel new project Crafting application... > php -r "copy('.env.example', '.env');" > php artisan clear-compiled > php artisan optimize Generating optimized class loader > php artisan key:generate Application key [---] set successfully. Application ready! Build something amazing.
