Create a new user for running utorrent:
useradd -m -s /bin/bash -U utorrent usermod -a -G www-data -G sudo utorrent Provide write permissions to /var/www to utorrent user: chmod g+w /var/www
Now copy and extract the latest utorrent server files to /home/utorrent/utorrent
Copy my utstart script to /home/utorrent/utorrent/
Login as utorrent and install utorrent startup scripts:
[utorrent] ~/utorrent $sudo ./utstart install [utorrent] ~/utorrent $./utstart start
Now that you’re all set, you can deny ssh login to user utorrent:
#grep -i 'deny' /etc/ssh/sshd_config DenyUsers utorrent
