Associate .pl files with Perl

Scenario: You would like to double click and execute .pl perl script files.

Run the following in Windows command prompt:

assoc .pl=PerlScript
ftype PerlScript=C:\Perl64\bin\perl.exe "%1" %*

To allow IO redirection to work properly, you need to import the following Registry key:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
