Mounting remote directories on Ubuntu local file system

Install sshfs:

sudo apt-get install sshfs

Add your user:

sudo adduser joel fuse

Create a local directory for the mount point:

mkdir ~/iniz

Edit /etc/ssh/ssh_config to allow key auth in sshfs:
Uncomment the line and edit so that:

   IdentityFile ~/.ssh/mysshkey

Now mount:

sshfs [email protected]:/ /home/joel/iniz -p 788

where the generic line is:

sshfs [email protected]:remotedirpath localdirpath -p PORT

To unmount, do:

fusermount -u /home/joel/iniz
