Installing Google Chrome on Ubuntu and Debian with apt-get

wget -q -O - https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub | sudo apt-key add -

sudo kate /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google.list

Add the following line to google.list:

deb http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/ stable main

Then update package lists and install Chrome

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install google-chrome-stable

Recommended method of installation of Google Chrome on Ubuntu

Get the latest .deb package from the official Google downloads section.

Install dependencies:

sudo apt-get install libcurl3 libgconf2-4

Now install the package:

sudo dpkg -i google-chrome-stable_current_i386.deb
